is it really advisable to get a radeon card? isn't nvidia so much better at even at the same performance level. nvidia software that configures your card specifically for each game?

Show me an nvidia card for $160 that can perform as good as this video card.

This can do 1080p high settings with 2400g cpu oc to 3800MHz ...

sure the 1660 ti can do better, but it costs $330 ...

with the upcoming release of both the 5500XT and 5600XT, I would hold off unless you are in dire need of a video card.

Releases are rumored as next week for the 5500XT and January for the 5600XT.

For the most part compatibility decisions come down to congruence with the ports/sockets/connectors on your motherboard. Most today are a flavour (size) of ATX that take an ATX power supply. The specific size (e.g. micro ATX) will help you decide on a size of case. The CPU socket will likewise determine your CPU options.

For cutting edge nuances like support for a PCI-e 4.0 M.2 drive you're best to talk to a sales rep (the rest of us know that you need a 3xxx series AMD CPU with an x570 board for this). Still, you won't hit a hard roadblock in this case as the interface is still M.2 and thus compatible (just that a PCI-e 3.0 port will max out at those speeds as compared to a 4.0 port).

Another option is to use the system builder on PPP (and heed the warnings at the top and bottom of the page): https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/

Well that wait was a complete let down, eh.

The deal may be cool, but those 590s all run so hot, no? Also, I'm not sure that 50+% more in cost is worth a marginal performance bump. From what I've read, the 590 is for the most part an overclocked 570.

"Should be" sure, but reality is different. The lowest I saw a 590 for was on BF at ME for $209.99.

Thanks OP. I'm heavily considering this to replace a GTX 460 to drive a pair of 4K monitors. It's either this or a used GTX 970 that a friend may sell me. The used market seems unreasonably high on the vast majority of tech IMO though.
