Too expensive with tax. Over $300.

Selling for $250s no tax from Amazon a few weeks ago.

I appreciate the Boxing Day effort, @CCorbu.

Yeah, 250 would have been smoking hot. Amazon sells it for 415 now, maybe it will drop again. Too bad I missed the 250 deal, I've been searching for a good price 2TB NVMe for more than a month.

Amazon had it for $300 a few days ago (350-50 coupon) no tax. I actually need a 2TB NVMe right now but I can't maximize my AmexCobalt/PP combo on this deal right now. (Thanks RFD for doing this to me)

Thanks OP, just grabbed one !

I have a Q:

MY mobo is Asus Maximus Hero XI, and I have already populated all of my 6xSATA ports with SDDs/HDDs. If i plug that NVMe PCI-e on the bottom M2 slot, is it going to take away one of my current SATA ports ?

Anybody know ?

Thanks !

I found this in my mobo manual:

M.2_1 (A) the top one, supports PCIe 3.0 x 4 and SATA mode
M.2_2 (B) the lower one, supports PCIe 3.0 x 4

I will use the M.2_2 so im hoping it will use the PCI express lanes rather than SATA.

Is this single-sided or double-sided? Also, is the newer SX8100 better or worse?

Double sided and the SX8100 is a worse drive.

Thanks I'd better check if double-sided fits.

Correct, I wasn't sure so I put an 's' to signify a $10 range. Awkward phrase, granted.

Sorry for the noob question but is this one good for a macbook pro retina (late 2015). I know there’s a certain adapter needed but what’s the best deal to go with for upgrading a macbook pro that doesn’t cost an arm and leg ?

Ok, I'll pass. SX8200 Pro's performance/price ratio cannot be better, but I read it may not survive a power outage. This is what happens when Adata chases after a single metric (and sure, excels at it). Have to pay higher for Samsung or live with inferior performance with Intel or Crucial. Your 660p isn't bad. I would have picked Intel at the same price even if performance is as terrible as what people say.
