Keep in mind that this isn't the new Zen 4 chip with RDNA graphics, but rather a Zen 3 chip and virtually the same as the old Ryzen 7 5825U.

The 7x30 chipsets are equipped with the vega igpu. Basically two generations behind in graphical performance. This is not geared for mixed use or creative use. Generally this is basic line, one step higher than the budget garbage tier 7x20.

If you want a mixed use processor (some creative, light to medium AAA gaming), you want the 7x40 (RDNA 3 igpu).
If you want the older igpu like current gen, it would be the 7x35.

Lastly, if you want to go maximum cpu, it would be the 7x45 but these are supposed to come with dGPUs as their IGPU is worse than than the 7x40.

Confused yet?

So 7x35 is RDNA 2 then? That's still pretty good as RDNA 2 was a big improvement over the already decent vega graphics.

But, yeah it's a confusing naming scheme but once you get the "decoder wheel" that tells which digit means what, it's not that bad.

Intel Iris Xe is even better than the Vega graphics. At least for the integrated graphics of the i5-12500H vs Ryzen 7 5800H.

I highly doubt you'd find a Zen4 Zenbook or even a Zen3+ Zenbook for this price...

There was a Zenbook 14 with a 5800U for $1000 a few weeks ago.

There was also the Asus Vivobook that was also about $1000 that came with a 6800u..

These are last years and the previous years models, but going by reviews the CPU performance between the 5800u and the 6800u were similar. What makes the 6800u stand out so much was you got USB4 support (on some models) and a better iGPU. If you want something in this form factor maybe shop around.

That said it's not a bad price, but this is launch price so it'll always be this price. it's bound to get cheaper, and you may be able to find old stock of last years models and save some money.
