The one thing I was looking at, they raised the price by 19% a few weeks ago.

What a sham.

Yep - good to know people out there are aware of the prices of the items vs. running in only during "sale days" throughout the year. Things will get cheaper each month, want it or not, it is inevitable as new technology comes in.

I also noticed that they tend to hike up prices slow and the next day pretend that there is a super "sale" going on... hmmm... fishy.

What are my chances of calling up FS and getting a price adjustment on my Samsung LN52A550 TV that I bought last weekend?

It says that it's online only, but includes in-store pick up. Plus, FS has price protection until Jan 5th now. I guess I can threaten to return the TV.

How come this isn't called a Customer Appreciation sale like last time? Does Future Shop not appreciate us anymore?

One wonders I can get get Futureshop for violation at the Competion Bureau.

http://www.competitionbureau.gc.ca/epic ... 0230e.html
False or misleading ordinary selling price representations - The Competition Act prohibits false or misleading representations, to the public, as to the ordinary selling price of a product, in any form whatever. Under the Act, the ordinary selling price is determined by using one of two tests: either a substantial volume of the product was sold at that price or a higher price, within a reasonable period of time (volume test); or the product was offered for sale, in good faith, for a substantial period of time at that price or a higher price (time test).
I would assume it's somebody's job there to ensure that they just barely skirt around any actionable pricing strategies though.

The Xbox 60gb Pro with Gears of War 2 looks like a good deal.
