Agreed. 99% of their items are over priced, and it is hard to find $75 worth of value in sale items.

So if you end up buying regular priced items, the $20 gift card is pretty much negated as you've paid that $20 in overpriced goods.

You end up getting $50 or $55 worth of goods for $55 (after you finally do get the gift card)

What happened to you sucks, but it can happen anywhere. You can't boycott an entire chain just because one of their stores has a bad employee or two, or makes a mistake and denies it with you. I would've stopped shopping at half the retailers in this country like that.

Simply ways to avoid getting scammed.

1- Use cash only :|
2- Use your CC to pay only at the pump. :|
3- Always check your receipt before leaving to ensure litres and charges match
4- Walk or run instead of driving :cheesygri

In BC - you have to pay before you pump.
This is true for cash/ CC/ debit etc.

So drive off's don't happen to often here

Anyone know how much SDM usually sells diapers for? Stocking up and getting ~25% off might be worthwhile.
Also you can say: " Be careful of getting scammed by (insert any store here) " because generally I don't like getting scammed by anyone. You had one bad experience from an incompetent employee. That has probably happened at least once at every retailer in the world.
