I like when I see these grocery deals. Gives me a heads up and a reminder sometimes that I am out of that certain product and a good time to stock up.

I wouldn't tell anyone else what type of deals/items to post prices about. If someone wants to discuss if the price is good or the quality of the product, that's fair game. If someone wants to post a thread about a product, it's not my place to say whether it should be posted, even if I'm not interested in it. If I'm not interested in a particular thread, I just don't open it. This thread does not harm anyone, doesn't promote any illegal activity, doesn't break any site rules, and doesn't get in anyone's way. Groceries are something that people need to buy. Many threads are for extras that are not necessities in life, and there's nothing wrong with that, but we might as well save money on products that we need on a regular basis.

Ground chicken and ground turkey has always been significantly less expensive than beef. $2.99 per pound is an excellent price for fresh lean ground beef.

The grocery posts have helped me because sometimes I miss things. Last week's $2.50 eye round roast for example. Metro deals are also good for me because I rarely look at the Metro flyer, and even then just the first couple of pages because I don't live near a Metro (been in one maybe 5 times in 10 years). However, one of my wife's girlfriends lives near one, so an especially good Metro deal discussed on here MAY be beneficial for us.

Who the hell is downvoting this? This is like the cheapest ground beef I've seen in like 5 years.

I've seen this price regularly until a month or so ago (a regular special at an independent store in Welland).

The downvotes may be from somebody who doesn't like grocery deals.

Maybe not the cheapest, but it's a good sale price. Sale prices of $2.77 or $2.88 for fresh lean ground beef come up about every month or two at most major grocery stores, although seeng those prices will seem more frequent if you account for the fact that stores take turns advertising those prices. Things are expensive at regular price, and if you buy at regular price you're probably at looking at paying about double. The downvotes are sometimes because some people don't believe that food prices should be discussed here.

Local butcher has it for $3.99/lb as an everyday price. I've seen it dip to $2.99 2-3times a year.

Often get ground beef for 3$ at Maxi, not listed on the flyers. No idea why but that didnt kill me yet :)

Naw I think it's just because that deal is so-so.
