There are products every week in the flyer that are discounted for PC Optimum members, $7.99/lb lobster is one of those this week (my Provigo was sold out on Saturday)

I've never seen those prices with the exception of last season and this year.... it has rarely been 7.99$/lbs for a small lobster (under 1.25lbs).
Unless you're in Matane or close by...

Agree to disagree. I can remember every May this sale at a very similar price for years. I am in Montreal btw.

It's in the flyer. Might be best to go early on Thursday if you can.

Lobsters at this price are overrated. Much rather some steak and scallops. This coming from a Nova Scotian.

Do enlighten us how "freshness" of live seafood is a factor regardless of what the ethnic background of the store it's bought from? Quality related to store cleanliness, or handling practices? Sure, but it's a live lobster, most probably caught within 48 to 72 hours, aggregated at the fishery site on the dock, packed in cold storage, and reefered out to the distributors within driving distance or air shipped out, for markets in further west of Ontario.

And now one of the main reasons its going up in price is the demand from the Chinese market.

*Won't post what I really want to say on the matter
The recent surge in price this year is because of the USA market.

Also Gaspésien are happy about China and Japan buying a lot of our product.
