Agreed.. $88 would have been much better... Not sure who will buy $888 just to get $50 bucks back unless they really know what to buy at Apple store or Arcteryx already.

"8" is associated with "wealth" in Chinese culture, so any combination of 8's would be lucky. They'll be those that pay to have more 8's in their phone number, license plate, house number, etc.

Be careful with these GC, I had 2 charges on 2 different cards for Footlockers Toronto last year.
I called Footlockers and they said the charge was made in store but they wouldn't tell me which store.
The charges were 44.79 and 55.99 so I'm guessing they are in BC because of the 12% tax for $39.99 and $49.99.
AMEX wouldn't do anything because they treat these GC like cash.
I bought $25x8 for the last AMEX promo so they wouldn't bother trying to steal with the small amounts.

Thanks

They're getting cheaper with the promos now, but 5.5% is 5.5%. Shame you can't use the GC at Superstore, would of been a good stack with the points day offers.

this is a deal for the store. its "888" for the store and the CEO. People handing over cash interest free for no product. adding people who lose / forget the card, they will come out ahead of the 5.5% discount.
