Mexican Bowl (Barrie/Toronto) $2 Taco Tuesday

Deal Link:
Price:
$2 each
Any tacos for $2 each on Tuesday (reg price $4.50-$5 each). I had low expectations but was pleasantly surprised. The place was kind of slow to make the food but it was well filled (the amount of meat was very good for $2, was half expecting them to cheap out on the meat but they didn't). It did look like the guy didn't wanna be there though lol. The proteins tasted good for a fast food taco joint. I had brisket, fish (deep fried), & chorizo, went with hard shell option. $6 + tax & $1 tip (yes, I tipped for takeout) so under $8 for a good, filling meal. The tacos were full & more filled out than their pics indicate btw

They have a location in Barrie, I went to the Queen W/Bathurst location in downtown Toronto. Small takeout joint with minimal seating

I just came back from mexico and miss the tacos there... $1 per taco also, and tacos in canada are just not the same

My comment is about the Mexican beef & not the rest of the taco parts but I found Mexican beef to be really low quality compared to Canada. It affected how well I enjoyed the taco. I guess I didn't realize how good Canadian beef was until I was in Mexico. Even at some higher end restaurants in Mexico, the beef still wasn't very good IMO

My family has been going to the Barrie location for a couple of years and they're always a favourite. Never had a complaint about the quality of their food and portion sizes are always generous.

If you go to real Mexican spots you can find decent tacos. Of course they’ll be good / better in Mexico.

I discovered La mexicanada in Bradford of all places. I used to play golf in the area and was pleasantly surprised.

It makes sense as a lot of Mexicans come to pick crops in the area.

Cows need space to graze. There’s a reason you don’t ever read about imported Mexican beef.

Alberta beef or Texas beef and maybe Argentina (but chewier) is the best beef.

Mind you many tacos don’t need to have a beef filling

In general I prefer chicken but for some reason, I prefer beef when it comes to tacos. The Mexican beef just wasn't very good, no matter where I went (even at high end places). Like I said, I guess I took for granted Cdn beef, I didn't even realize how good we had it. Best for me was Japan & Korea, that was some amazing beef

Also check out Mexhico.ca in Barrie, by the waterfront. Phenomenal authentic Mexican food, including tacos, very generous portions.

It's cheap compared to taco bell which is low quality economies of scale garbage. This is a step up from that, I can assume.

Anyway, why does the ad say "One Taco Only"?

Does that mean we can get 1 of each for $2?

Like i said in OP, it is much more filled than the pic, mines were filled to the top. I got 3 tacos, its not limited to 1. Yes, you can order more than 1 of each, they have online order available. Way better tasting & better deal than TB, even though TB is 2 for $2.19 (hardly any meat).

I got brisket, chorizo, & fried fish, all which is worth more than TB ground beef, obviously way more toppings available than TB including guac (free). Took me a while to get home, it was a bit cold so i put it in toaster oven. 3.5/5 without factoring in the great price

If you're in Toronto, check out latin world. $1 taco specials on mon, tues, wed, and fri. It'll help the separation anxiety from food in mexico.

Funny thing about beef... even in vietnam the people who had been abroad, but originally from vietnam had told me that the pho was better in the west because of the quality of the beef. I can't really argue with that too much.

I have too many good promos right now (Uber, A & W) that I skipped this today, but I hope people give this small business a chance. Has guac, & superior meats like brisket, chorizo, & fried fish for just $2 compared to taco bell "ground beef". It was a bit cold by the time I got home last week, put it in the toaster oven for a few mins & it was nice. 3.5/5 without accounting for price, hot deal at $2 each (can order multiple, not limited to max 4 like taco bell)

Barrie
Got it today in Barrie. Place was quiet. Got the pulled pork, fried fish and Chorizo. All toppings and house sauce. Chorizo was best. Worth the $6 forsure. Going again next week. Regularly $4.50 ea or 3 for $11.99.

I've been a few times, super dry meats today at the downtown location.
