Mexican hand sanitizer: 84% does not pass FDA testing, >50% contain toxins at dangerous levels

As always, if you're buying hand sanitizer, make sure it's on the approved list. This may affect the US more than Canada, but the FDA has been investigating imported hand sanitizer from Mexico, and the vast majority fail testing.

The FDA’s analyses of alcohol-based hand sanitizers imported from Mexico found 84% of the samples analyzed by the agency from April through December 2020 were not in compliance with the FDA’s regulations. More than half of the samples were found to contain toxic ingredients, including methanol and/or 1-propanol, at dangerous levels.

They'd be better off using straight tequila.

A decade ago i was at a resort in the Dominican Republic...there was a Norwalk outbreak. The staff were using Brugal 151 proof rum to sterilize everything.

I'm wary of buying even Mexican produce.
