Free Equifax monitoring for 1 yr as a result of MGM data breach - Members only

Hey all,

The personal details of more than 10.6 million users who stayed at MGM Resorts hotels have been published on a hacking forum this week.
With many people have been to Las Vegas before there is a good chance many of the RFD family has been impacted.

Because of this hack MGM is providing members with Equifax credit monitoring services for one year at no cost.
This deal is only available if you are have signed up with MGM and received an email. (If you have signed up for their email service, M-Life accounts, or stayed at a MGM resort).
Check you emails for an email from mgmresorts.
An activation Code for the Equifax Complete Premier Plan is included in the email.
I have called in to their customer service line and confirm this is legitimate.

Here is more information about the hack - https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/19/us/m ... reach.html

I got the email although I have never stayed in a MGM property. I did see a show at the Mirage but that's way back in 2014.

Not complaining about getting it free though.

I used my activation code at this link. Worked immediately.

I got the email as well, thought it was a scam so I deleted it, I did stay at MGM

Should I be worried?

I thought it might be a scam too because they sent it to an email address that wasn't associated with my Mlife account. Seems it's legit.

Canada, eh?
I've said this before in another thread...soon we'll have a bunch of these codes that we can't stack cause every single company will only be offering Equifax and TU monitoring which is useless.

Hmm, I got an email and I have never stayed at an MGM hotel either. I do have an MLife account though for the casino. I have also seen a show.

Hopefully the amount of data they have on me is minimal. Scary thought that my info my be out there though

At this point, between the data breach at so many different places, I'd be surprised that anyone's data hasn't been leaked somehow.

I got the email after staying in Aria (MGM property) about 5 years ago.

Thanks. I had deleted the email so went back to it.

They say that this service is usually $15 / month. Who the heck pays for this? $200 a year to see your credit score??

Premier subscription, that comes with additional features such as internet monitoring of your personal information etc...
