[Microsoft Store] ASUS VivoBook 15 OLED K513EA-UH76 15.6" Laptop CAD $989.99

I was going to get the 14" ASUS recently on sale but decided I wanted something a little more powerful. I didn't see many reviews but I'm a fan of ASUS so grabbed it (thru rakuten) at $260 off.

ASUS VivoBook 15 OLED K513EA-UH76 15.6" Laptop
• 15.6" FHD OLED display
• Intel Core i7 11th Gen
• 16GB memory/1TB SSD
• Intel Iris Xe graphics

Reviews welcome....I'm just using for work with an external monitor and think it'll be good for that.

Which of these is this model:
  • 8GB DDR4 on board, 8GB DDR4 SO-DIMM, Memory Max Up to:16GB
  • 4GB DDR4 on board, 4GB DDR4 SO-DIMM, Memory Max Up to:16GB
  • 8GB DDR4 on board, Memory Max Up to:16GB
  • 8GB DDR4 on board, 4GB DDR4 SO-DIMM, Memory Max Up to:16GB
  • 4GB DDR4 on board, Memory Max Up to:16GB

I assume it's "8GB DDR4 on board, 8GB DDR4 SO-DIMM, Memory Max Up to:16GB"...and we're not treated to a 16GB on-board.

How's that last one even possible. Do they make 12GB SODIMMs?

It used to be a 5-10% discount off the store, but I think the program has changed to just select products, doesn't look like this is on the list

Just bought the i5 version for a Christmas gift. It is $120 cheaper and I don't think they would use the i7 any better. It is supposed to be here today, I will update omn build quality qhen it does.

Keyboard:
- Is it backlit?
- Is it English only, or Bilingual? Pics often don't show the actual model.

Anywhere in Vancouver that has it on display so I can see the actual unit?

Thanks!

I did noticed they seem to have an almost identical laptop ( ASUS VivoBook 15 OLED K513EA-UH78 15.6" Laptop ) the only difference I could see (from the meager specs you're given) is that it comes with windows 11 and isn't on sale ($1269.99). Personally I don't want windows 11 yet, if it is even loaded...

Although they are both i7, they are not the same processors. Dell's i7-11390H is better than Asus's i7-1165G7. Plus Dell's model has Thunderbolt 4.0 with DisplayPort™ and Power Delivery on the USB C port, which Asus likely does not have. With Newsletter coupon, you can bring down Dell's price by further 10%.

Is that a unique coupon we're supposed to get in an email?

Yes, there is a long thread in Ongoing Deals subforum on how to register and get a 10$ off coupon from Dell.

OLED is good but not all OLEDs are the same. Parameters like brightness, color gamut, color accuracy, etc. are important even for OLED displays. Something to keep in mind when evaluating the display.

600nits peak brightness, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, 1,000,000:1, VESA CERTIFIED Display HDR True Black 600, 1.07 billion colors, PANTONE Validated, Glossy display

Looks great from the specs. You would need access to a colorimeter to calibrate the display if color accuracy matters.
