Been waiting for an XPS since the spring for my daughter for school. The last deal they had they cancelled my order twice. At least they gave ma a $100 credit

Although not an XPS, Im thinking this would work well for her

Dell one is 2-in-1, HP not so.
Dell one has US keyboard, and I am not sure if HP has that cursed keyboard.

Looking for my friend. She doesn’t play games. Just browse and transfer files. Sometimes the kids will watch cartoons.

I’m not a tech savvy guy so I’m not sure which one is a good deal. I purchased my laptop because of RFD and the upvotes. Still have one unused sitting at home. (Lenovo y***)

If she's just using it to browse and letting the kids use it, perhaps she should consider a used laptop from Bauer Systems or Refurbio.io. I bought an HP 840 G1 from Refurbio, and I'm quite happy with it.

Having said that, I understand that the used computer market isn't what it used to be...

I’d be holding out for BF unless you need it right away. I’m not personally a fan of the Inspiron line and I believe this is their 5000 series (mid range) in that line. That HP for $699 (actually $649 with code) is a better deal imo but it’s out of stock. Also keep an eye out for the Swift 3 series as you can sometimes buy them for $649 (open box) with the same specs as HP and they are a brushed aluminium body versus the cheap plastic.
