1080p ips. I think good deal. Put SSD in and you've got a decent machine

Yeah that's the plan, especially with SSD prices so good now.

Don't mean to crap on the thread; for this price it seems like it should include a ssd?

I'm in the market for a new laptop so I'm keeping my eyes peeled :)

SSD would be nice. But with an 8th Gen i5 at this price, I doubt it. If you find one though, I'd be interested.

It says USB-C but I don't see it in the pictures. Did I just miss it?

One thing to note is that it’s a 15.6 inch screen with a 42 wHr battery. From my experience you’ll get around 5 hours max with power saving mode on. Just a heads up!

Most reviews/websites aside from the MS one seem to say that it's a TN panel. So proceed with caution.

Actually one review on the MS even says it's a tn panel.

This is touchscreen so I presume it's the 2 in 1? Both screen options for the 2 in 1 are ips according to dells website

FYI, this deal has been around long enough for me to have received this laptop already. (It was mentioned in the Dell XPS 13" deal thread). Its a decent laptop, but the screen is not great. Its ok but not great. There is no USB-C. It says there is, but there isn't one. I would say this is a warm deal at best. Its not a horrible laptop, but its not great. Definitely needs an SSD, which I plan to buy. Its an upgrade for me, but if you have already have a decent laptop, I'd think twice. Again, its not bad at its price, but this is not a HOT deal. Just my opinion.

What a bummer! Good thing they offer free returns. Will see if I like it, or it's going back.

Dell, Dell, Dell. What are you doing still including HDs in laptops? This isn't even an old model to explain it.

So that they can advertise 1TB of storage to the masses that don't know what SSDs are.

Looks like you can put in an M2 in this? So you can keep the 1TB drive and just an an M2 to boot from.

I was thinking about getting this for my wife as she needs something to edit photos from our camper. Do you think the screen would be suitable? I know we don't have time machines, but it would would be a bitter pill to buy it 4 months after it was $130 less. Really on the fence...
