To do this keep hitting refresh and hovering over the add to cart button till it lets you add it to the cart. No guarantee it actually comes but if there is no Microsoft Store even close to you it might worth a shot.
wont let you check out

OP thanked. Just picked up mine:)

Will be returning Acer to Costco (didn't go on sale, older processor, no optical drive).

Isn't anyone concerned with reports that this thing has a TFT screen and not IPS?

Lenovo Yoga 720 13" with i5-8250u/FHD/8gb/256 SSD for $988?

Yes costs more, but it's a 2 in 1 and weighs only 2.9 lbs.

Ideapd 720s is good as well, but it 14", weighs 3.4 lbs, and the 2 in 1 may appeal more to students taking notes? But can't really go wrong with either, although the i7-8550u deal right on BF was better

When I was picking up my laptop at SQ 1, they had Inspiron 13.

Specs: Windows 10, i7-8550U, 8GB RAM/256 SSD, 13.3" FHD/ UHD Graphics 620. Weight 3.7 lbs. 42WHr, 3-cell Battery. Regular $1,349, now $849.

Not sure of stock level.

If anyone in Calgary area is still interested, the Microsoft store at Chinook still has good stock. I had talked to the customer service before lunch today, they had about 20 pieces available. Good Luck!

Thanks OP. Grabbed one from Metrotown. I've been looking for a decent laptop in the $500 range and this one is pretty good given the specs and the price. Yes, it doen't have and SSD or the best build or screen but for $550 you can't find anything close to this (I have been looking since back-to-school sales in August). You get the 8th gen i5-8250, 8GB ram 1080P screen. The best part is it's user upgradable so throwing in an SSD or some more ram is possible.

I got last year's version of this sale and it has been great. I assume the make and quality is similar. Took out the dvd drive and put an SSD and it made a world of difference. the cons I have are the power plug into the laptop is very loose, very heavy, and the touchpad isn't centred. Because of this, I right click by accident alot. Took some time to get use to. For the price, it is a great buy, especially for the HD screen.

You can replace the DVD drive with a second SSD? Do you need to buy an adapter for that?
