[Microsoft Store] HOT! Samsung Odyssey G7 27", 32" VA panel monitor $650/$750

I've been looking to get a gaming 1440p 240hz monitor for a while and this is the cheapest that I have seen the Samsung Odyssey g7 27" go for. Even on black Friday this monitor went for $700. The 32" on the other hand I have seen it go for $700 before, but at $750 it's still a decent deal for those that want a 32" right now. This is a curved 1000R monitor and highly rated everywhere from those that don't mind the curvature of this montor. And FREE returns if you decide you don't like it after all. Anyways thought I'd share for those that were in the same boat as me. And don't forget to use your Rakuten if it applies(Dont know if it applies because I haven't received mine yet).

Happy shopping everyone!

Is the 27" preferred due to pixel density?

If you have the Microsoft offer through RBC offers, you can get a $50 statement credit as well!

Be warned. The G7 and G9 panels suffer from panel defect. I had to return my G9 few times before getting one without flickering. If you Google G7 / G9 flickering, you will see the issue is wide spread. Purchase with caution.

I choose the 27" because I'd be mostly playing first person shooters. No idea about the pixel density of the 27" vs the 32" though.

Flickering should be resolved with the firmware update that dropped in November. That being said, you do have to know what you're getting yourself into with these panels (i.e. FPS range for effective freesync/g-sync, scanline issue related to black equalizer, etc.) I have the 32 inch and it's been great, but it's not a flawless monitor by any means.

I was under the impression when researching the monitor that the earlier produced panels did indeed have the flickering issues but the issues have since been addressed with new firmware and the issue have been resolved. But if you do get one with flickering issues just return it. Free returns=)

Correct me If I am wrong but this does not have 2.1 hdmi therefore cannot output more than 60 Hz on consoles right ?

Keep in mind that pushing 240 frames at 1440p in modern games with all the eye candy enabled is pretty much impossible. you're better off paying 200$ bucks less for a 120/165hz monitor.

This deal is only good for professional CS GO players and those that don't mind low to medium settings in modern games.

Flickering from G-Sync was resolved with firmware, but there is another type of flicker/flashing. It was never resolved. I had three monitors with production dates in November and December, and only the third one is free of this issue.

This will output 1440p/120hz on console and since it can accept a 4k signal, it will scale it down to 1440p/60hz with HDR on.

So technically not so great for console since you would not take advantage of the 240 hz screen

Because the first two panels were defective. It keep having this weird flashing band of about 5cm wide to the left of the center of the screen.
