Received mine today, however the AMD 4500U version.

Man, AMD is doing some serious work with their CPUs, and GPUs. The basic 4500U model comes with 6 cores vs 4 cores on the i7 processor in the 16gb ram version above. At least 25% more power in multicore performance (not to mention the superior graphics performance vs intel iGPU).

So I'd suggest to go AMD at a lower price & a much better performance if you can find one.

if you don't mind the 8gb ram, there is a better deal on black Friday for the flex (ryzen7-4700u and 8gb (soldered).

Honestly nobody should be buying an Intel-based PC in 2020/2021 unless the price is almost too good to be true. They are just so far behind on every single metric compared to AMD. How things have changed....

Exactly. Wait for an AMD based machine to drop. You'll get way more bang for your buck in terms of performance and battery life.

No link yet, the sale is not live. It's going to be a black Friday special on November 27 only. 789.99$ (+probable 10% Rakuten and student discount if you can get it)

I have the Lenovo Flex 14, but with AMD Ryzen5 3500. I actually got this and touchpen from kijiji for $420 in pretty good shape just few weeks ago and I am pretty impress with performance and speed.

Yup got the 4500U 16 gigs of ram, 749 open box at bestbuy.
Only thing is French keyboard super sucks., . The shift key and enter key have been split into two, different symbol type keys so I had to remap the keyboard.

Yup it's 512GB SSD and 16 GB RAM. Yeah too bad I couldn't find such config with English keyboard so I had to bite the bullet. I remapped the buttons next to the shift/enter, for now.

BTW the one I received from Best Buy had a faulty mouse pad. Tried everything and they did but couldn't fix it. Then I saw a refurbished item with the same specs from a 3rd party seller for $608. So far so good, seller says it comes with 90 day warranty but the Lenovo app on the laptop says valid until AUG 2021.

Can't say for sure, but most Lenovo nowadays are soldered, so you can't upgrade the ram. I almost believe that they do that on purpose. Anyways, I haven't checked the one at Microsoft, but you most likely can not upgrade it. If you want to be sure check the specs or ask customer service.

Haha its actually such a sweet computer, I bought the active 2 Pen on amazon to try it out and its super minty. That 3rd party sounds pretty decent. With that warranty tied into it as well Id say thats HELL of a good deal man, A bit jelly
