Lenovo at $600

thoughts on saving 379+tax while giving up:
SSD (buy a cheap one for $50?)
1050 instead of 1050Ti
8GB RAM (answers saying 8 is the max)

??

Seems like almost a no-brainer if doing light gaming and the RAM could be upgraded later?

Better bang for the buck. Build quality might be worse though, but you are talking about a system that is over 50% more so it better be. Gaming performance isn't great for current gen stuff (but neither is the 1050Ti). Would definitely get an SSD. The downgrade in performance would likely be worth the cost savings, but depends on usage.

Which is why I suggested this build (y7000) is good if you can't spend over 1k, but better deals for the performance can be found elsewhere.

If someone needs more storage, Looks like this laptop supports this nvme drive.
1tb for 149 and 2tb for 269

https://forums.redflagdeals.com/newegg- ... h-2269243/
That is a great deal on the SSD. You would have to swapping out the 256 GB SSD that comes with it because the 2nd bay is a 2.5" SATA III

But if someone needed more storage, how is this in anyway better than the i7/1060/512 GB SSD that was only $30 more, that you were so against?

I have this laptop,

It's come with a wire and a place to connect second hdd! Witch is good. The screen is really good speaker good enough. The USB c is not thunderbolt 3.

Big problem with the wifi tho. Look at forum disconnect every 10min or so.

Lenovo don't want to repair.
So far, downgrading the driver seems to solve the issue ... at least for now:

(I can't take credit for finding the specific driver to use)

Could you please recommend me a laptop around the same price or less than this Y700 but with better performance. I don't plan to use it for gaming so if I get better performance for working, multimedia, light Web Dev, light video editing, with 20+ browser tabs open that'd be the goal. I'm in the US by the way. Thanks.
