Razer BlackWidow Elite Mechanical Gaming Keyboard $169.99 (regular $229.99)

**only green switch is available

I really love how this keyboard looks with RGB lighting on. So if that's your thing, this may be the keyboard.

Amazon.ca has it for $198.97 right now.
**Green switches are known to be loud and clicky, so this won't be a good office keyboard. This is more of a gaming keyboard.

The material 'looks' cheap by 2020 standard, IMO.

Any other recommendations with similar price?
I felt this had good wrist rest & lighting in this sale price range.

Good keyboard. Though I prefer orange or yellow switches. I currently own green... Love it!

Would not get this or any Razor keyboard. There are much better options for the price.

I currently use a Coolermaster CK550, it was on sale for ~$50 on Amazon a few months back. It's full RGB, Gateron switch which is an improvement over Cherry MX. It's a good buy at ~$100 full price, and is cheaper than Razer. Even better if you can get them on sale.

Those are all opinions, preferences. Saying it's an improvement it's a bit off imho. Especially on a very general way.

Both gh threads are (mostly) comparing brown Gateron vs cherry.

Between blues, probably I'd prefer cherry mx over Gateron, I haven't tried any brown cherry, my work board is mostly Gateron browns tho...

I have both Cherry brown and Gateron brown, and can attest Gateron is indeed smoother, tactile bump is more "tactile", and less scratchy when bottom out. Pretty similar case with Blue switches as well. It is understandable since they were designed to improve upon original CMX design.

Buyer beware. I purchased a razer phone direct from razer and it arrived bricked. Their customer service is horrendous, I did not get a reply for over two weeks even with numerous attempts. I do not recommend anything razer.
