[Microsoft Store] Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order $21.99 Xbox One

Saw this sale on Microsoft Store. Been wanting to play this game as it has great reviews. Has it ever been lower? I dont think I have seen it this low. Before the gamepass critics come on, yes I know its on gamepass, but some of us dont use gamepass. Anyways, thought I would share for anyone interested. I may pull the trigger before the deal expires

i played the first level and hated the game. very scripted sandbox, jump here, climb there. maybe watch a demo first of the actual playstyle before buying to see if it meets your interests

That was the tutorial like in most games...

I thought the game was great, finished it on PC and Xbox Series X. I really enjoyed the metroidvania aspects of exploration.

Interesting, but you didnt play more? Does anyone else (who beat the game) care to share? Would love to play a good star wars campaign game and judging on reviews it looks good

The game is great. Give it a try. If you like metroidvania, you'll love it. It's free on game pass if you have that...

Yes I agree, the game is great and has been very well received in the games industry... almost to the point of a unanimous demand for a sequel. I don't have as much time these days to play but every time I jump onto it when I have time I love playing it. Graphics, gameplay, lore...everything I really like. Gives a cool look into the Star Wars Universe as well. Its not as scripted as the other poster mentioned, you choose your path.

This is a good price for a great game.

Kinda like Uncharted, but with Star Wars.

This game is great. Its a bit linear at points, but you get rewarded for exploring. Some sections can be a bit repetitive when you have to back track but not too bad.

I had a blast playing it. Combat is fun. There are some cool boss levels too.
How can an ant carry twenty times its body weight, but root beer floats are still delicious?

Its basically Tomb Raider with Metroidvania aspects. If you have played any of the newer Square Tomb raiders its basically very similar.

If I had one criticism, it's that you don't really feel like a super OP Jedi until the latter half of the game. It's not like the Jedi Knight games where you spam Force powers on poor stormtroopers. Combat is more tactical and balanced and not just button mashing.

This game is included with Game Pass. While it’s a good game, it’s relatively short. I suggest getting a Game Pass trial code from eBay

Lol, I remember playing the first level and thinking the same thing, and then 2 levels later kicking myself for not noticing that the first level feels that way because it's a metroidvania style level where every time you come back to it with new powers you can explore more of it and it's that much easier to traverse freely. The first time you visit that level it's basically just linear cooridors with all this tantalizing stuff out of reach, but by the last time you visit, the exact same geometry is a massive parkour playground that you can roam freely.

Like most others have said though, I really surprisingly enjoyed this game. Super satisfying mechanics and a generally well written / acted / directed game. It gets a little Star Warsy in the worst ways once or twice, but overall I'd put it somewhere between the Mandalorian than Rogue One in terms of Star Wars quality, probably a little closer to Mando.

Gameplay wise, if you're a decent gamer and want a fun challenge, I think it plays a lot better when you play it on hard as the combat is very challenging but immensely satisfying to get good at. The game is kind of Tomb Raidery in it's direction / setting / puzzles, but with a heavy dose of Mirror's Edge / Titanfall style parkour, and melee combat that is more akin to the Souls games or something like Monster Hunter. Both your moves and the enemies moves generally fall on the slow but devastating side of the spectrum with precise counters for each one, so it really punishes button mashing and is about knowing your moveset, as well as the various enemies' movesets, signals, and weaknesses, and how to chain all of that knowledge and timing together into precise and powerful combos. Playing on hard it took me like 2 days of trying to beat the final boss and I had to actually come into it like a sport, making sure I was fully rested and in a good mental state and hydrated lol, but finally putting everything together near perfectly to win it was one of the most satisfying video gaming moments I've had.

It’s available for game pass and the game isn’t that long so you can finish it in 1-2 weeks if you are planning to get all the achievements. So it will be cheaper for you to just renew your game pass subscription than paying $22
