How does this compare to the offerings from oculus ? I’ve got a PSVR but I find it rarely gets use. Nonetheless I want to play with this !

I just signed up for valve index stock notification. I think it's time to try PC VR.

Still need a high end gaming PC to run this like the HTC vive. Price is pretty good though

Previous Odyssey threads have some good discussion, here’s the 2 latest that should help you decide:

GTX1060 or GTX1650 should be your minimum GPU to run VR, unless you want to play more demanding games like Doom VR that require a GTX1080 or GTX2070 to run well. GTX1050 and GTX1050ti are VR capable but they struggle with games and are better suited for video viewing and general applications.

I have a laptop with an i7-7700HQ and a GTX1060 and most games run without any lag or issue. The modern equivalent would be a i5-9300H with GTX1650.
I have about 15-20 VR games and they all run fine.

I picked one up at this price in November. Loving it so far! I have a PSVR as well, and the Odyssey+ is better in most ways (just not quite as comfortable).

If you grab one, make sure you start your Vive Infinite 2-month free trial. Hundreds of VR games to download and play for free before you go buying games. A fair bit of crap games but some really good ones too. Great way to try things out and see what's worth getting.

Happy to answer any questions people have about it!

Bought in November last year but returned it . I found it not very comfortable and couldn’t adjust the lenses to make the picture really sharp . Maybe my expectations were too high . I love the idea of VR, but would rather wait until it’s more refined. Sadly it doesn’t seem to be getting affordable as well taking the price of the new valve index into consideration .

Good price for what you get. At that price, you get a quality piece of hardware, but are tied to WMR. I got one back in November for $324 and have been enjoying it. I just played it last night!
