[Mike's Computer Shop] Crucial MX500 500GB SSD - $98.99 + Free Shipping

I don't think this has been posted yet? A bit cheaper than before.

Good price, decent SSD, (gets a bit hotter than most from my experience, but still fine for desktop 40C idle & 50-60C for heavy use) with great performance.

Also available for $98.99 on Amazon with Prime membership: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0784SLQM6/

Happy to buy from local / smaller stores. Good to see MCS is getting competitive on some of their prices.

it's just insane to me that 500 GB ssds are below the 100$ CAD mark these days while everything else continues to skyrocket. :)

$113 WAS a good deal... in August.

At some point you have to take the plunge and don't look back.

Or else you will wait for a better price forever.

They are actually same price with Amazon.
Anyone has ideal if their 10% beat policy works in this case?

How good would this be for a HDD replacement in a Dell Inspiron. Looking to upgrade my 2 year old laptop.

2Ferny111, you will feel the difference, laptop will become MUCH faster. Especially the boot time.

IMHO I think SSD's will be even cheaper closer to the NY

It's a nobrainer replacement for almost any laptop people are still using.

Bought one, my 120GB SSD from a few years ago was a bit small for an OS drive even with all the system folders re-located to another drive. Thanks OP.

Why would anybody downvote this without dropping a post explaining why?

Seriously folks.... there might be better deals coming on Black Friday, but the last few years of BF have been mostly disappointing on the computer front so I wouldn't count on it. At these kinds of prices for a 500+GB consumer grade (not questionable zero-cache budget grade) SSD, there's no reason why anybody should be left suffering through the agonizingly slow 52/5400 RPM mechanical drives they put into mainstream PCs/Laptops.
