Minimum tire size - A3

Hello everybody,

How do I determine the minimum tire size for my 2019 Audi A3?

The summer tires on it now are 19" but I wonder if I could go as low as 17" for winters.

Thanks!

Hi, the 2022 A3 base model is showing a wheel spec of 225 45 R17, with option for 19 inch wheels on top model. I don't think you have any big brake package (unless you mean you have a S3), so you should be fine with a 17 inch for winters. Hope this helps!

The 2022 is a redesign but it's also flabbergasting they can still have this car have 17" wheels at the base level. I mean an A3 in 2007 had 17" wheels and that was kinda iffy for the price back then. Now the car is way more expensive (though yes inflation) and it's some 15 years later they still think 17" wheels are acceptable

That said 17" should fit the previous gen as well--as you say if not an S3 it won't have larger brakes to worry about.

Thanks guys!

It looks like Audi West Ottawa sells a 17" winter set too, so 17" rims must fit.

Thanks for the input. I appreciate the help.

Thanks! I guess there is always a first time to get a down vote for asking a question :)

I'll go and pull the owners manual. I could have sworn it was not in there. I guess I was wrong.
