Mint.com and TD Waterhouse (TD Direct Investing) Account Transaction Update Problem?

Is anyone using Mint.com with TD Waterhouse? I have been for a few years without issues but recently I have noticed that Mint.com has stopped updating the transactions of some of our TD Waterhouse and TD Direct Investing accounts. The balances of these accounts are all updated correctly and timely. The weird thing is the same TD Connect ID has several accounts associated and some of them work just fine yet some others do not. I can’t tell any pattern in terms of account types such as TFSA, RSP, Margin, Joint or individual, USD or CAD etc.

Anyone else seeing similar issues? I contacted mint.com several times without any resolution. Thanks in advance.

It's very likely that TD changed something in their security to make it more difficult for Mint to gain access. The banks/dealers do this regularly, as they consider linking a third party to your accounts to be a violation of their terms. Mint will probably figure out some kind of workaround, but it is what it is in this world dominated by 6 banks that are stuck in the 20th century.

I think you are probably correct when it comes to many of the major banks, but TD actually supports Mint officially. They even provide a special read-only API with full two-factor authentication integration with their login system.

See their joint press release from last year:

Interesting. I guess at least one bank is moving into the 21st century.
