There isn't a huge incremental benefit over a grinder...but I like how small it is so there's a feeling of better control. If you've never seen one on person, you will be surprised how small this thing is. If you add the dust collector adapter this thing is nice to have in your tool collection.

I couldn't disagree more. There is a massive benefit over a grinder. This is a precise tool with variable rotation speed, very easy to maneuver.

What are you guys specifically using this tool for instead of just the grinder like someone mentioned?

Can also change the direction of the rotation, this type of tool is great if you're doing difficult cuts in a confined area or need to do a lot of overhead cutting of thin materials. And the dewalt is the best of all the major tool brands due to the offset disc allowing deeper cuts.

I use cheap 12v 3" grinders from aliexpress but if I didn't have 3 of them already I'd be buying this one.

This is usually in the promo in the US and oddly I think it was in the current promo there (6Ah + 4Ah charger kit + free tool) but has now been removed. When it was in, that would give it an RV of about $95 USD or around $130ish CAD.

Strangely they still have the "combined listing" (i.e. non-hackable) up at the total $199 price but it's OOS. I've never seen it in a Canadian promo but I don't really eagle eye the DeWalt stuff...

It's pretty much the best cordless cutoff tool out there at the moment but the Ridgid is basically neck and neck with it and can often be had for about $90 CAD in the promos...

Few good comparo vids for those interested:

More precise cuts on metal, I just used the m12 version cutting out rusty rocker panels to weld in replacements, used mostly with a diamond blade for small cuts on tile tho.

Great tool to have in your arsenal for when the need comes up.
I have the M12 version and used it today to cut open the back panel behind the kitchen sink. There's probably only 3-4" clearance in there and I was able to use this guy very easily.

I've installed a couple of those half glass inserts for front entrance doors. I used an angle grinder to cut through the metal skin, I bet this would be great for that.
