Mobile Internet - Mobile hotspot

Has anyone shifted to a Mobile hotspot (LTE cellular router) for their WFH usage in more rural areas? Any advice on which devices work better for a couple of people trying to access from laptops (one using VPN) ? Is adding it to my Rogers infinite plan the way to go?
