Got a 6S at The Mobile Shop at Loblaws in Ottawa (Barrhaven).
150,000 + 125,000 points

Could have got 50,000 extra points for trading in an old phone, and 50,000 more points if I would have taken an open box. I didn’t do either of those things.

Selling my iPhone 8 - I’m on a minimalist kick

The 6S is a few years old, but it’s still an awesome phone. I’m not even noticing a difference between it and the 8 Plus I got rid of.

for people not thinking of signing up and cancelling immediately, the TMS guy told me that if you sign up and not cancel you will get back the $35 service charge as a credit after the 2nd month, can cancel afterwards

net cost per my calculation after 92 days approx. $44
= ($240 tab + $35 serv chrge + $45 x 3 month) x 1.13 GST/HST ON - $275 PC points - $50 trade in PC points - $60 self referral 3 months - $35 srv chrge credit = apprx $44.

decent price for an almost throw away phone that is still good to use in 2019

Rep in the Kanata store said that Koodo specifically doesn't do the 50k trade in? I missed out if that's false.

TMS does the trade in points and promotional points, dont think KOODO is involved in the issue/giving out PC points for sign ups

How do you do a self referral
You need to be an active Koodo customer in order to refer yourself before activating a new life with the iPhone 6s.

The iPhone 6s is 10% slower than Apple's newest and fastest. Apple learned a painful lesson when they prematurely obsoleted the 4s with a slow OS update. Their customers went to Android phones in droves. The iPhone 6s will not suffer that fate.

The last Apple product I owned was a iPod nano, so not exactly a fanboy.

Any idea how much Koodo pays for a 6S? To be able to sell it for $240

Probably less then $240.

The price you pay for an item is of no consequence when selling it. You sell it for what the market will bear, at the rate you want to sell it.

A bunch of phones in a warehouse brings in zero money, and cell phones drop in value constantly.

Obviously Koodo felt it better to 'fire sale' them, instead of them just sitting around doing nothing. This is common in business.

No luck at TMS on Saturday here in Winnipeg for this phone. Guy wanted to sell me more plan than I needed and was trying to convince me that there are never any bonus points deals. Felt annoyed. Luckily, later in the day, the Walmart associates had the phone with $250 in WM gift cards. This is spouse's first iPhone and she's pretty impressed so far. With 32GB instead of the 8GB on the Samsung Galaxy J1 she was using, she can finally install some apps.

It’s not garbage. I’m using it right now. And it runs better than the Samsung A8 I bought this year.
Anything is better than the low end Samsung’s.

Is this deal still on or was it an Easter promotion?
