[Koodo] [Pretty Hot] Samsung A70 with $200 in PC Points

Retailer:
The Mobile Shop
A pretty warm deal. $200 GC for the Samsung A70 on the medium tab for $0. So that ends up being:

$360-$200+$35+GST = Total price of the phone.

I talked to the girl at TMS and she gave me 200,000 PC points. She said that this was a back to school offer - it started at 3pm today (Aug 16). She pulled up an Excel sheet and showed me the offers available.

A better deal than what Bestbuy is offering on there Family and Friends Sale, which was kinda disappointment for this phone ($150 GC on a Large Tab).

I really wanted a big phone. Otherwise they also had the Samsung S9 with 200k points. You can also do trade in for whatever they give for that.

I couldn't find it on the website. You should call in and ask.

I activated with Koodo last week. TMS did not charge me for the Koodo SIM.

You mean there is $35 connection fee you'll see on your first bill?

Yes, the $35 connection fee shows up on my first bill. But TMS did not charge me for the Koodo SIM.
If anyone can get the $35 connection fee waived, please share how you did it. Thanks.

The OP said that they still have the S9 deal so that might still be available.
Call and find out.

For postpaid activation, Koodo no longer charge for SIM card. Instead, $35 connection fee includes SIM card for in-store activation. Free SIM on online activation.

Right now TMS lists S9 with Virgin Platinum plan = $95/month, minus 200K PCO (add another 50K for old phone trade in , I guess)
https://www.themobileshop.ca/en/phones/ ... -galaxy-s9

Virgin lists the outright price = $1020 (+ tax, I guess)
https://www.virginmobile.ca/en/phones/p ... ey/64/TR18

But at the end churners prefer koodo.

I was going to churn s9 (s7edge), my plans 75at, unlimited 10g, rather just keep my plan as it might not be offered anymore.

No GC or pts with hardware upgrade. But you can call and ask Koodo for bill credit for hardware upgrade. It is easy to get $50 - $100 bill credit.
Have too many phones... This is how I limit my monthly phone payment.
Public Mobile $37 5GB, $13 250MB, 2x $8 50min/50text, Fido $5 4GB data only plan,
Zoomer $36 loyalty 4GB plan, $0 FPL home phone. Have a better and better day!
