If National Post is to be believed, $636M was given out to high-school students (15-17 years old) as of October 2020. That doesn’t even include the other kids on the student version of CERB etc…

Guess how much free govt money millenials got after 2008 crash killed the economy for a decade?I’ll give you a hint, it’s about $636M less than high-school kids got last year.

Getting this thread back on topic though - there is an insane amount of $$ sitting on the sidelines waiting to be deployed. Housing will only go up from here.

24k is 5% down on an entry-level Toronto condo, but most of these kids can’t qualify for mortgage on CERB/CERB equivalent alone so they’ll be renting.

Am I salty AF about CERB, you better believe it.
Look at it this way: If you wanna get a piece, just quit your job, go work min wage part time or whatever and wait for the next CERB bailout. Or maybe your current life and dignity is worth more than that. That's up to you. Nothing to be bitter about.

Well except for all the people who claimed it fraudulently and don't have to pay it back. People were claiming it and their jobs weren't even impacted. Or people claimed it and they weren't even working last year.

Every contractor / business owner / self employed person scooped CERB plus CEWS/CEBA last year. So much free money was handed out Face With Tears Of Joy

2020 tax returns were done a long time ago, weird haven't heard a peep about them reclaiming any fraudulent claims...
