Moving from Calgary to Ottawa - Plan?

Asking for a friend of mine. He's with Rogers in Calgary and he got a job in Ottawa that starts in March. Best options for him? Unlimited nationwide talk/text with 5+gb data for ~$55 would be ideal if it's available anywhere. Not sure if there are any Alberta-only promos that he can activate before he leaves, or if there are any Quebec promos that are available to residents of Ottawa specifically.

Hey, assuming your friend does not already have an Ottawa number, be sure to advise him to get a Gatineau number. He can go to a kiosk with any carrier in Gatineau, or a BestBuy or WalMart in Ottawa. Gatineau is local calling to Ottawa and those sweet 819/873 #'s qualify for QC plans with big three.

Else, to use an Ottawa # (613/343), can get a post-paid plan with Videotron. Kiosks available in Gatineau, plus two shopping malls in Ottawa (St Laurent and Place d'Orléans...the Orléans location is new).

It's BYOD $49 for unlimited Canada-wide talk/SMS/6GB data, but Videotron has best discounts for multi-line (2, 3 or 4 users). For one user, go with the carrier of your choice depending on what's important (roaming deals, new activations and upgrades promo's, device availability, network reception, etc.).

That's perfect. Thank you. I've passed it along.
