Thanks OP! Ordered a Gen 2 for $65 last month from Staples but they shipped the wrong Nest product. Then the sale was over so couldn't reorder. For $50, I'll take a Gen 1!

-"50% greater base response"
-another mic for better voice detection
-some sort of sonar chip that helps with sleep tracking
-no lip/bezel on the outside
-some hand gestures for controlling music (only play/pause, no swiping for next/previous or etc.)

That's it. Buddy at the end says it's not worth it unless you really want to use the sleep tracking.

I bought Gen 2 and returned it. It was sluggish as I dont think the original hardware was ever intended to have the advanced computing via updates. I was disappointed in the overall UX

Thanks Op . I applied the 10$ coupon on the order the total shows the sale price but the view edit order option is shows as 35.99 price instead with the extra 2$ electrical tape I added looks like a glitch , so I orders it again with another roll of tape at a different price same thing 35$ for the hub and a few cents off for the tape. So I used the coupon twice , will see the final price it ships and when the bill arrives.
