My car battery is working properly but there is nothing on the dash board.

Hallo everyone,

My car battery is working perfectly well as i put it on a similar car to mine (Honda Fit) as a way of testing it.
The hazard warning lights are not working at all and neither is the bell.
i checked the fuses starting from the main fuse but they are all working. I tried resetting the car electrical system by having the negative and positive drain all power from the capacitors then hooter started working, when i tried turning the key to start the engine the lights went off again. and became dead silent.

What could be the probable cause?

How did you check the fuses? Did you check continuity or just visual. Something doesn't add up...

when you plug it in your car what happens and what tools are you using to identify faults?

Not understanding: is the battery giving you enough juice to start the car and run the vehicle but you've lost all power to the interior controls? Do you park outside and do you have rodents or rabbits in your area? A chewed wire could be the culprit.

Dead battery?

Yes i know you tested it on another car but check its voltage and charge it with a plug in charger. Or get a boost from someone else and see if you have any luck. Your car may need more cranking amps if its similar size of car but not the same model (your post was ambiguous).
How old is the battery?

You are also sure the gas tank is not empty?
Could be lots of things from the starter to a immobilizer malfunction/needs reprogramming to fuel pump to electrical gremlin to corroded contact to many other things.

Its in Park/Neutral and/or your using the clutch down to attempt to start it, right?
I don't know if any cars need the brake pedal pressed to start it?

I don't fully understand the problem, but I think it has to be the fuses.

It could be the ECU or engine computer. Most likely the fuses.

Do you have one of the Hondas that mice find the wiring to be extra tasty?

Are the main ground and power to the starter good?

Find a video that shows how to test your starter and try that. If the starter is good. Take the battery and have it properly load tested. If that is not an option.

After watching a video and understanding how to SAFELY by pass the battery try jumping the car that way.

If the car will start and stay running the battery is likely the issue.

If the car will not start then it could be as noted above so many different things.

Most of the time this is caused by loose, broken or corroded battery clamps. It can also be caused by a battery with an internal fault. (battery can handle a light load but not a heavy load)
There are other possibilities but these are most common.

Usually new account for PM spam. They have to make a post so they can PM spam people. This is probably what happened.
Makes sense since the OP didn't make any sense and was a wild goose chase.
