[Napa Auto Parts] Duplicolor Engine Enamel - Spray Paint $5.99/can

Napa Canada's monthly special. Available in a range of colours including a clear coat. I don't see any primer on sale.

Regular price is $15.14 on sale this month for $5.99. I bought some and noticed that they add a small fee ($0.25) to each can on the invoice for environmental.

Decent paint for spray can.

Would this be good to paint calipers? Seems to be heat resistant.

This Duplicolor engine enamel is rated for heat resistance to 500F. VHT brake caliper paint is rated to 900F.

I need to repaint winter rims in black and aluminum alloys that have some corrosion with pitting. Could this be used to paint wheels or should I stick with the Dupli-color wheel paint? What is a good primer to use on aluminum or steel wheels? Pricing seems a little crazy, the primers on the site are 3x more expensive.

Should work great unless you track your car. Although I believe some people have used this on a track car anyways without issue.

I used it on my old wrx brakes and it still looked great after 5 years

Spray bombed wheels chip easily anyways so I would just try this paint. It's made for metal parts that get hot so it's a pretty touch paint. You may even be able to skip the primer if you clean and decrease your wheels properly. It's all in the prep but i think you can sneak by with a minimal simple green wash and maybe a bit of scuffing. Honestly just spray a quick coat every few years and it will always look fresh.
