Don't froget that the triple warranty does not apply to:
> electronic tablets, mobile devices, portable computers and software
> heat pumps and other heating or cooling appliances
> drones and other remote-controlled aerial devices

The mention of **triple** the warranty on extended warranty got me to look into it. NBC has 3 cards that offer triple warranty (up to two years extra) .... all their other cards are double the warranty period (up to one year extra).

The triple the warranty cards - all with an annual fee - are the Platinum at $89 a year, the World at $115 a year and the World Elite at $150 a year annual fee. Platinum has no minimum income requirement, World has $60,000 individual or $100,000 family minimum income requirement and World Elite has $80,000 individual or $150,000 family minimum income requirement.

link to the summary page of their cards

The fine print for the warranty says "up to 2 additional years" so 1 year manufacturers warranty becomes 3, 2 year manufacturers warranty becomes 4 and 3 year manufacturers warranty becomes 5 - the maximum.

Note that when you submit a warranty claim they are going to want 4 items ... A copy of the original bill of sale, a copy of the monthly credit card statement showing the entire purchase was put on the credit card, a copy of the front page of the owners manual and a copy of the warranty page (with some items that is that loose slip of paper that some people throw out). Some products are excluded - like automobile and boat parts...

Do you mind to let me know how long it needs to be approval or whether it is easy to do online, planing to apply the crad too, not sure go to branch will be easy than online, thanks in advance.
For what it's worth, here is my experience:

I applied online on day 1 and received the application confirmation email saying "A letter with the credit decision will be mailed to you within ten to fifteen business days". I waited until I saw a hard pull on my Equifax file (which happened on day 3) and I called in to find out the status. The customer service rep (who was not a credit specialist) told me that I will be receiving a letter in the coming days asking me to come in to a branch to verify my identity. I asked if that meant I was approved, and she said there was nothing indicating approved or declined on the application, from what she could see, other than I needed to present myself to a branch for ID verification.

^^ Hardly gonna verify your identity unless you're approved.

I'm glad this is being done now, as there's way too much identity fraud going on. A coworker of mine went through it and it wasn't pretty.

This promotion is intended for individuals who do not have a National Bank Mastercard credit card and cannot be combined with any other National Bank offer, promotion or advantage.
so if I cancelled my World Elite a month ago, I can still apply again and be eligible for the offer?

If you applied for the card in branch, you won't have to go through the identity verification. They do an online application and you get a decision within 5 - 10 minutes

So I guess the $80 card is the most worthwhile to get to maximize the $480 cashback?

Unless you're gonna utilize the the $250 in various travel credits on the more expensive card?

So I applied last Wed. online. Called this morning to check on the status and was told I was approved last week and the card has shipped. Checked my Equifax and saw the hard pull was last Friday. Confirmed the $40 cashback will be applied each month I have net purchases > $500.
This is my first National product.

I'm currently having the National Bank echo mastercard. If I cancel it today, will I be eligible for this offer? The T&C does not state this criteria.

Also, I suspect it won't help churners - your card account normally needs to be in good status to make an extended warranty claim.

Not true. It doesnt apply to portable computers under the 180 days theft or damage, but warranty does get tripled. Have used it as recently as 9 months ago on a Mac book. Even one of the CSRs I spoke with wasn't aware of this.

can you get both this offer from credit card and from their chequing account, 300 bonus?
just checked and their top account (free with >6000 in the account) give you 150 rebate on credit card
would make this offer very sweet, esp with the triple warrenty that you should keep the card long term

Not only did did I read it before, I understood it and used the benefits for extended warranty on a MacBook twice, once since they changed the terms and conditions in 2017.
Here you go and it is on page 16.
https://www.nbc.ca/content/dam/bnc/en/p ... delite.pdf

"electronic tablets, mobile devices, portable computers and software" are not listed as an exclusion under Extended Warranty. (Neither are " drones and other remote-controlled aerial devices")
They are only listed under Purchase Protection and there is a difference between the two.
