Answer received from twitter, would still suggest to put in low-volatity ETF to be safe :
to be eligible you just need to fund your account with a min. $500 deposit in the first 90 days!

I think the wealthsimple invest promotion you have to deposit 1000 and leave it there at least 6 months or you will get a $50 penalty..

But the trade terms seem different. It seems you need to deposit and trade, it doesn't mention the 6 month/$50 penalty

I think to be safe is to trade the $500, if you are risk adverse, you can always buy and sell right away, might lose out a few cents on the spread between buy and sell but it would satisfy what is written. I guess you just need to buy $250, then sell what you bought, that should satisfy a $500 total trade. I left my trade in.

May i ask if anyone have opened a Trade account with WealthSimple and received the 500 bonus AM? It looks like I am missing this one; thus AM only credit 800 miles from STB.

I'm still trying to get these air miles from Wealthsimple. I've communicated both with air miles and wealthsimple several times. Air miles is now contacting them directly for a second time.
They are saying that I have to keep the balance in there a minimum of six months, but that was never a condition of the trade offer. That was a condition for the invest offer, not trade.
