[NCIX] Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB 52.99 + Free Shipping

Good deal if you need an SSD for your operating system.
I don't think it's possible to get better value for an entry level SSD considering the current CAD currency situation.

For some pricing compare:
Amazon.ca 55.55$ @ Prime
Amazon.com 42.98$USD

I bought this one week ago at 60$CAD on Amazon.ca, it was best price I could find at the time.

Advantage ordering from ncix is you pay one tax so it comes down to the same. However return is way easier with bestbuy given no need to pay shipping back.

I'm surprised you got this one fudgey. It's a horribly slow drive and the v300 ssdnow is known as a POS. I would return it and get something else even if it's $5-$10 more

The hyperx fury over this any day!!! http://www.ncix.com/detail/kingston-hyp ... 1-1101.htm

yeah, don't trust the reviews, as right after the reviews hit, kingston pulled a switcheroo to cheap, ultra-low-end asynchronous NAND, which is only 25% the read and write speed of the synchronous NAND in the reviewed drives.

Wow,

I guess I live under a rock cause I never heard about this and it seriously sound like they pulled a scam.
I feel bad for buying my Kingston 2x2gb ram and this drive for my openelec box a week ago.

A few companies have pulled a bait and switch. Kingston and PNY are the two big ones I'm aware of.

Nothing is wrong with buying kingston products. I still buy the good stuff they have. Just don't support this kind of garbage is all!

Their flash drives and memory cards are hit and miss too. I've done comparisons of some of them, and the speeds shown on the packaging hasn't always been true.

Better not risk it with Kingston. They did a switch on the SSDs and they're a lot slower according to Linus. The Sandisk SSDs are on sale on amazon and you can get BB to PM. $86 for 240gb after PM from amazon to BB

Sorry... it's the HyperX 3K I have, not the Fury. The 3K has been pretty good for me, but I haven't done any benchmarking with it. I've had the drive for about 2 years now.

Check Amazon.com customer reviews for the HyperX Fury. There aren't very many negative reviews but the ones that exist, seem similar.
