+faster usb vs v1
*Theres QoS if you wonder since it didn't state
-heard it gets pretty warm if not rasied 1cm from ground

BTW, they have wrong info about the warranty, it will be 30 days at best. Even new Linksys routers really only have 90 days (you have to pay for support after that before you can use the rest of the warranty...taken a page from Apple).

This is a run of the mill price for these. Nothing to see here.

For $70, it's not a bad deal. Linksys will likely provide firmware updates on this version more than v1 (latest v2 update is 11/19/2012), for those who don't want to mess around with 3rd party firmware.

For this price, you could just use it as an awesome wireless extender/AP and don't worry about routing.

PS Just noticed free shipping, that makes this even more of a deal. Maybe I want one now... :)

I believe you can still PM against FS, as they also have e4200 refurbs.....

Donot buy this garbage. I bought one and it's not power up. I checked it was defect power adaptor. I asked for refund and they gave a replacement. I acepted it since I thought the first one was bad luck. But the replacement didnt work either. NCIX just refunded the unit price and didn't refund 3 year express replave. Shame.

NCIX also has the v1 Refurb for $69.99: http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=73594 ... omoid=1479

You can try to PM with FS (currently at $99.99) and free shipping.

I picked up the NCIX last month (so missed out on the potential PM and free ship). I installed DD-WRT following this guide: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_E4200

It's working quite well.

Is this better than Asus' RT-N16 or RT-N56U? I can't find the N16 under $80

picked up a refurb from ncix a little while ago and its been working decent for me since (flashed wrt right away). runs fairly cool considering these are supposed to run hot.

benefit of ordering ncix over fs even with pm is ncix gives you the serial number to see if its a V1 as soon as its shipped so you could technically reject package and cancel order if you want to be a ***** .

And what does that do? Is there a big advantage for V2 over V1? V2 doesn't have custom firmware

Mine has been running for more than eighteen months with absolutely no problems. I have always had mine elevated to ensure adequate ventilation.
