[NCIX] XFX r9 280 DD / Black Edition ... $199 / $229..

I figure this can help someone out at that $200 budget level.

Very nice card for the price imo, the Black Edition is only $30 extra, heard it can OC well.

With the release of the 960, AMD is trying to be more competitive by cutting some prices? Or is it because it is almost time for the 300 series to come out? Or both?

Just saying might wait a bit if you are already waiting.

with our dollar forecasts, im very very glad i purchased my parts instead of waiting for new products to be released up here...

if you were looking for a 290x, or 970/980, i would say wait for sure to see what happens on the release, and if it pushes the prices of top end cards down alot now (although r9 290x's around $300 is great..) ... but sub $200? this 280 is one of the better ones, so its not bad.. doubt it drops alot even after 3xx series cause look at stuff like the 660 still going for 150-200... i hear you though

i think the price drops are a combination of both.. plus some brands are clearing out stock (powercolor one at ncix ect)

You guys all know that when you're buying a 280 you're just getting an ancient 7950 right?

I would not bother considering anything lower than the 290 from AMD at this point.

^get at least 285, cause 280/x have the older chipset, 285, 290 and above have new chip

I think it has to do with both but with the 960, 970 and 980 they have loss a lot of market share
