Need advice on winter tires

Need some advice on getting winter tires + black wheels for a 2018 BMW X1 and locations to buy.

Don't know much about winter tires, so would appreciate the advice. Looking to get something before winter's over to save cost.

the problem you will find this late on the season is shop's don't have much stock yet.

For a shop in Toronto, Simply Tire.

Read some reviews here or online and check with your dealer as well, they may have winter tire packages for competitive prices.

What's the budget?

I've researched the bests in the past and here is the digest:
- Nokian: I've never heard anyone complaining about Nokians. Superbly rated in terms of grip on all surfaces. Design emphasis on lateral grip. Not as quiet and comfy as Michelin or Continental.
- Michelin: Great on ice. Not at good as the Nokians and Bridgestones in deep snow or slush. Great in terms of comfort and wear rate. Comes with a great mileage guarantee.
- Bridgestone: Great performance all round when new. Concerns with wear rate. The outer layer of super grippy material wears out making the tire less performant compared to competitors with time.
- Continental: I've heard good things about the tire. Comfortable and quiet, cheaper than the Michelins and Nokians.

You can buy the latter three just about anywhere. Nokians are rarer -you can find retailers on their webpage.

I need wheels too. Are alloy wheels better than steel?

If I can get anything reasonably better than what the dealer is offer for a set of wheels + tires, I will be happy.

Contact http://simplytire.com

Ask them what they can offer you fro rims & tires I have the Continental SI winter tires which are very good so I highly recommend them.

However you are very late to be buying winter tires/rims march is around the corner and temps will be warming up. if you cannot find a good deal/price now you may want to buy something next Fall and get a better deal and have more options.

Thanks. Would you say Fall typically has better deals than March?

Well usually there's rebates that manufacturers give out in the fall if you purchase a set of 4.

Usually in the fall SimplyTire does a group buy fro RedFlagDeals I got tires last year for a family member and we saved around $80 if I'm not mistaken. Also we had lots more selection since everybody had full stock of all rims/tires.
