Need a bang for buck 50" TV for girlfriend

After sifting through some threads here I see that the few Costco models seem to be popular budget picks (Haier & Hisense). This TV would mostly be used for netflix and some television viewing, she is not a film buff or anything. So I would pick one of the cheapos at Costco however I just came across this Sony at BB yesterday:

Sony KD50X690E $599 (regular $1000)

Yes its a bit more BUT it includes and HDR capability and it's a Sony, would it be worth the extra price jump?

I would pay the extra for a tier 1 brand. Even an LG at Costco is reasonably priced.

It is a good deal for Sony. I have 55" 720, great picture. Wonder if this one has TV tuner?
