The saw would generally be the correct tool for cutting drywall.

This said, seeing as its half a CM, I would probably just elect to use a utility knife and shave it down.

Also, I assume the problem is not with the blade but with the multitool. This said a better blade may give you a better chance of a weak multitool cutting through.

Yea, it's hard to see but it looks like the tool is vibrating, not the tool. Maybe OP can try starting at angle or checking to make sure the blade is tight.

That tool should cut through the drywall like butter. But yeah, if it's that small of a change, use a utility knife to cut it.

may be the blade is worn out? try a new blade. The blades should be changed every so often

I had to watch that video multiple times as I thought he had it turned off....then I realized that thing was working.

Truthfully get a new tool, that one would have to be much better to be described as terrible. There is also a half round blade that I find good for drywall, with that tool I wouldn't even suggest to try.

Seeing you dont have an ocillating multitool that is capable, fall back position would be combination of utility knife and/or drywall saw.

The tool should not be doing that. Is the battery charged?

Might be a bit late seeing your other threads/posts, but would have been easier to just push the box up on the side not attached to joist. You should be able to work it up and down enough times where the nail would loosen just enough to give you room to either cut from the joist, or use pliers or a hammer to take the nail out.
