Need help with buying an used Mazada 3

Dealer asking price is $9,999 for a 2015 Mazada 3 Sport GS, the problem is the accident report show following:

January 2020 a moderate frontal accident with another motor vehicle without an amount.

July 2021 unknown claim of $7,242

What does that mean? The sales told me only one accident and the $7,242 is for the January 2020 claim, make sense? Worth buying with claim of $7,242? Tia

need to reload the image

$10K sounds pretty high to me, regardless of clean car or not.

I am thinking more of $7500 at most. Smiling Face With Open Mouth And Smiling Eyes

get an independent mechanic to complete an inspection prior to buying.

Nothing wrong with carfax. I had a $7K carfax for a front fender repair.

Better to find out than not and I'm assuming the accident is factored into the price

$7k accident is more than a bumper replacement and headlight. You will find plenty of other Mazda 3's with no accidents. Keep looking.

The 2 accidents are not related.

First accident was probably reported to a collision centre but repaired without going through insurance. Usually these aren’t big repairs that the person does to not increase premiums. However you never know unless the previous owner can show receipts.

Personally I would keep looking unless they offer a big discount.

LOL the car is selling for $10k and it had a recent accident worth nearly 75% of that? Given car prices are inflated these days that 100% sounds like the car was written off, and now is being resold.

It's one thing if a $7k+ accident happened back in 2015 when the car was new (still hefty but happens) but now that it happened a month ago when the car is already depreciated to nearly that price?

Tell 'em $5000 or they can go jump in a river--straight up!

Pretty strange how they didn’t write the car off considering how much the damage was in comparison to what it’s worth... it was fairly recent too. There’s lots of these OP, just look for an accident free one.
