Need help on fence

Quickish backstory:
My area has been backfilled with pitrun:
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/pit+run

I tried a one man auger, and managed 2 holes in 8 hours. I hired someone with a much more powerful auger, he did 3 holes and refused to do any more.

So i rented a mini excavator and got all 20+ holes done in under 4 hours, unfortunetely though, the holes are now all 4' long by 16" wide. I dug down to 4 or 5 feet deep, then backfilled and flattened to 45-46", then filled with gravel to 42".

There is a slight slope, and I'll need a bit of room for stepping. I cant afford a new media to backfill that much volume, so will be filling with what i pulled out. So here's my idea and am looking for some input:

1 put down a foot long 12" dia sonotube.
2 Fill with 1 bag of concrete (should fill 6".
3 add 4x4 pt post and fill around with another bag of concrete
4 backfill with the crap i pulled out, tamping around post every foot or so

I rececently lost my job, so am very limited for cash, but also want to do it right, so trying to strike that balance. The one benefit of the pit run is that it should help provide vertical stability. Tia for any help you guys can provide.

Sorry, forgot to mention. Fence is 6' shadowbox and I'm hoping to use 4x4x10s for the posts.
