Need OBGYN

Does anyone have recommendations for an OBGYN who is attached to North York General or Humber River Hospital and is accepting new patients? I'm open to hospitals downtown as well but I live and work in North York so it would be more convenient.

Currently 12 weeks pregnant and the OBGYN that I was referred to by my family doctor is terrible. Applied for a midwife but I'm waitlisted and I doubt I'll get accepted at this point. Instead of asking my family doctor again, I wanted to see if anyone had a really good experience with a particular doctor that they would recommend.

One of things I really want is for the doctor to be able to do ultrasounds in their office. Has anyone had an OBGYN who was able to do this?

Much appreciated!

BEST to go with ones close to where you live, based on personal experience.
Best of luck

I had Dr Nevin Lam she delivers at NYGH and she was wonderful. Pretty good with on time for appointments and would spend time with me. She doesn't do the US herself though. You can pm me if you want to ask any more questions. She was even in the hospital but not on call for deliveries and she came in to deliver my baby because she knew i was in and she was in between her other work.

Thank you.

I believe she's taking in new patients after calling around, I'm keeping her in mind. I'm meeting with a midwife this week so I'm going to wait and see how I feel about it before deciding if I should go back to an OBGYN.

I had Dr. Man Fan Ho at NYGH. Wonderful, patient, and professional doctor. He also has ultrasound in his office. But he doesn't take on many patients so if doubtful you can get in at 12 weeks but doesn't hurt to try.

The closest hospital to me is Humber River but after my bad experience and doing research online, none of the OBGYNs there had good reviews. While I would have preferred choosing the closest hospital, I decided to choose one a bit further away with better doctors.

I ended up going with a midwife practice that has privileges at NYGH. I'm very happy with the care I've been getting so far. My midwife referred me to a fetal maternal medicine specialist as a precaution so I'm being monitored closely by both the doctor and my midwife, they're doing a shared care approach. NYGH is in between home and work, still relatively close so I'm happy.

Thanks everyone!
