Need Your Thoughts...2011 GMC Acadia 126,000 KM

Looking to upgrade my 2009 murano with 141,000km to a loaded 7 passenger 2011 gmc acadia i can get for $16,000

Wanted to get thoughts on the vehicle, the mileage, and if its a good buy to go for?

I know gas is heavy on acadia, but so is the murano and but acadia takes regular

Aside from that..anything to be aware of?

Is mileage too high for year/cost ?

Looking to own it longterm

I always like it...and the enclave counterpart.
It looks like your average suv. High up with awd. But it has minivan like capabilities! It can actually seat those 7 people comfortably... And with an actual usable trunk!
Its a great compromise for people who want an suv but need minivan like abilities.

I also approve.
The Acadia was my 2nd choice after the Explorer in terms of crossing into the NA brand.

If it is the SLT or the denali package then no questions asked. Anything lower than that you might be overpaying for the vehicle. Just do your due diligence, get it checked by a mechanic and you should be good to go. I never liked the shape but it is a pretty practical car.

Is 126,000 something to worry about? I assume there is required maintenance coming?

Does it have a chain or belt?

Ideally i want it to give me 5 years

Interior feels cheap and the drive is terrible. Take it for a test drive, you'll see what I mean.

well a 2011 was probably bought something later in 2010 so it has average of 21000/year so thats not bad. Reading on the forums your car has a timing chain. Well several timing chains and also your engine had a revision as well for 2011 so you should be good.

My thoughts? Run. I wouldnt touch it with a ten foot pole. Get yourself a Honda or Toyota for 16k.

Its a SLT model, every option

You can get a Kia Sorento 2011 with SX trim level for much less than 16000 and that will be fully loaded as well but might not be as nice as the GMC. GMC generally makes very cushy cards.

Make sure to get a good feel for how it drives especially on the highway. A friend of mine has a 2012 and I didn't like the feel of its tranny.

Also check out the steering rack. I've had a couple friends and family that have gotten a weird buzzing when cranking the wheel.

If you like it, buy it! Don't let other people decide for you

The transmission programming is a common complaint on GM Lambda vehicles. They have some poor programming which causes the transmission to hunt around a lot of the right gear. I believe they started reprogramming them at some point but it still isn't very smooth.

Got any reason to back up your drive-by smear?

They Lambda vehicles are generally decent. Early ones had soft camshaft issues but I believe that was corrected by 2010.

They're big vehicles. Much bigger than the OP's Murano. Definitely test drive it to get a feel.

I've driven both that gen and last gen acadia as rentals over a weekend to the states

Its ok, heavy truck like, but also not a big enough sample to know about reliability

Lots on the road everyday

The seller said they just got a power steering rack leak fixed for $1500 a few days ago

Should I worry? Or not that its fixed its fine?

My neighbour has an SLT, looks like a good SUV. Would rather spend a bit more and get a Pilot or MDX of the same year.
