Thought this was based on the book “Red Notice” by Bill Browder which was really good, but no relation. Will still try to watch this.

Hmm... I'm not optimistic. The teaser does not impress.

However, even if it gets mediocre reviews, I may watch it anyway since it's "free" on Netflix.

Reynolds is smirking on the YT landing page.
Rock is smirking in the opposite direction.
I can't tell if Gal is smirking or a neutral expression between the multimillion dollar smirks.

This is my brief review... in short and no spoilers.

First, a brief intro / exposition (narrator voice), then the action starts pretty quickly, moving at a really good pace. That's good for an action movie. This is why they needed such a large budget.

Then, Reynolds does his thing. Pretty much he is doing lines and jokes that Deadpool would do. Everybody loves this guy. So it's all cool. He steals the show, I don't think The Rock can keep up.

But then, it turns to be entertaining but not a great movie.

Definitely you should watch it if you have Netflix. But if I didn't had it, I would not get it just because this movie.... you know what I mean?

thx for the review - I actually don't have high hopes for this movie but wifey luvs Gal Gadot - so we will watch......The Rock acts the same in every movie, I guess similar thing can be said about Reynolds....lol

I was hoping that she would have gotten more screen time...

"Surprisingly, Gadot doesn’t get much screen time... Gadot’s character, in the wider picture, makes a lot of important decisions that propel the story forward but is more of a background force until the second half"

Dwayne Johnson Reflects On 20-Year Friendship With Ryan Reynolds


Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Gal Gadot who star in the upcoming film “Red Notice” with Ryan Reynolds spoke to Access Hollywood’s Sibley Scoles about working together and their relationship. Dwayne gushed about meeting Gal for the first time and spoke about his 20-year friendship with Ryan Reynolds. “Ryan and I’s relationship, we’re like an old couple, we bicker and we fight and we love each other.” He joked, “We kiss and hug, inappropriately by the way.”

Watched the movie tonight and while the production was very good the script was generic and uninspiring.

Ryan Reynolds really does need to start adding some depth to his on screen portrayals, his over done one liners are well past there due date and come off as rehearsed and template responses. What was once new and excited is grimacing in this movie, surely he can add some depth to a character.

The Rock seems to have beefed up and doesnt look mobile at all, in an action movie like this one he didn't shine which is interesting as his personality generally shines on screen.

Overall a time waster but nothing more which is a shame. Netflix can shove a ton of money and get great actors, producers and directors however at times script wise it just follows a uninspired template and comes out flat. This movie is that....a bit been there and done that....and flat.

So give it a watch, doubt you will give it anything but an 5.5 to 6 out of 10 which is a disappointment considering the budget and talent.

I like the Rock and Reynolds, didn't like the actress and thought the entire thing was completely predictable. Basically, it sucked.

I heard the reviews on this were it's "Meh".....but I'll still watch it...not looking for anything deep with an action movie.

It was entertaining I enjoyed it. Not the best but good.
