Netfox/Atop IPTV... thoughts?

So I discovered that Netfox, an ISP, offers IPTV). The channel line-up is similar to what you would get with regular cable, but a bit cheaper (at least, for basic). It's available on Apple TV and Roku, and they have a new Android TV (not regular Android) app that they haven't advertised for yet.

So what I did was I went to Atop's website and signed up for free to get a sign in, and I downloaded the Android TV app onto my NVIDIA Shield TV (also works on the Mi Box Android TV). Atop offers one free channel (The Knowledge Network) and it seemed to work fine.

Just wondering if anyone has subscribed to this yet, and what it is like. Do all the channels change fairly quickly? Are the streams reliable? I see that The Weather Network is offered, and this makes millions of old people happy everywhere. It's the only way my in-laws would ever subscribe. There is a lot of Canadian content as well. Seems like a reliable service.

I just read about this over on DSLr ..I've been with Zazeen/Acanac for a year and half and it's good for my needs. This Netfox looks very attractive..I think you need to subscribe to their internet service (for me, it would be $3 more than I pay now) and the channel lineup looks good. The addon's (ATM) are reasonably priced. Zazeen has gotten too expensive so I'll certainly be following reviews etc. Bring your own device is a real draw for me... the old devices that Zazeen forced you to buy were dated and overpriced...

Netfox Tv offer looks pretty good but the internet service looks pretty expensive.
I am not sure if they offer bundle saving.
I had tried their app on Apple TV and I noticed that when object are moving on the screen I am getting dizzy.

You think Netfox internet is expensive? Here in Nova Scotia, Eastlink is $91.95 & Bell is $95.95. The cheapest high speed internet you can get out here is City Wide Communications, which is $54.95. So Netfox's $56.95 internet is really cheap compared to Eastlink and Bell. There aren't too many options out here, and then the rural people are screwed even worse. They get satellite.

I know, but when you can get Carrytel 150Mbps unlimited for $49.99 comparing Netfox at $74.95 then it looks expensive especially that it is third party ISP. Here in GTA it looks that Netfox is the most expensive out of all third party ISPs.
It is even higher than Start which is considered on this forum pretty expensive.
Same speeds on Rogers or Bell are close to $100 as well but who really pays those prices. It is easy to get around 40% discount by calling them as you can see on this forum.

Did you sign up? I'm weighing my options and probably going to switch to Netfox ISP / Atop IPTV soon. They claim their app now loads onto android 5,6 or 7 ~ I am trying to get it on my minix u9-h (6.0.1), no luck yet.

No, I haven't done it yet. But I helped them with some debugging and other issues. So they offered me a free trial. I haven't taken them up on it yet. I would like to. But I would rather the free trial go to my in-laws since they are the ones that watch TV (I don't). But my in-laws have Eastlink, and so they can't give the free trial with an Eastlink user (Eastlink is constantly trying to shut Netfox/ATOP down). But my in-laws have a Tomato router with VPN capability, and so do I. So I'm trying to get a VPN properly working where their Mi Box Android TV will have my IP address instead of theirs. Then the free trial would work. Haven't gotten it down pat yet. lol

Sorry to dredge up an old post, but I am looking to switch my parents over to netfox internet + phone + IPTV. My biggest worry is the IPTV app being slow/buggy and seeming like a big downgrade to my mom.
Did you progress any further?

I am in Halifax.

Thanks,

I don't think ATOP supports any android devices now ...you need to rent/buy? their box. I've pretty much decided to go with Teksavvy TV since it will run off a firestick.

They do support Android (Android TV OS, specifically), as it's still in the Google Play Store and was last updated on October 30: https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... v&hl=en_CA

However, my in-laws have perpetual problems with it. It will randomly go black and then show the buffering symbol and stay that way. Then hours later, they'll try again and they'll be able to watch a channel again. Their account shows that their subscription is expired since July, too, and neither Netfox (they are with Netfox) or Atop will get back to me about it, and simply says, "We don't officially support Android." It's BS.
