Interesting…

What will be even more interesting is the percentage of folks who opt to use them

I think a lot of adults will give it a pass … at least in the beginning

But I foresee many Parents choosing to use them for their kids

what's with them spending unnecessary money of taxpayer when there is pandemic and transit running almost empty ?
Seems like a waste atm, should do it AFTER pandemic over when ridership high

Well …
Fact is Pandemic has lead to a strange market

Some things are in short supply … while others are NOT SELLING

Possible that buying new buses from a manufacturer with abundant stock at an ALL TIME LOW PRICE … was a good move

We bought a new vehicle during Covid in 2020

When no one was buying cars … we got an awesome deal (unheard of price actually … dealership was DESPERATE to make a sell )

Today, now you cannot hardly buy a car for love or money

Dealerships having sold everything there was in stock … now there’s pretty much no cars to be had … cuz supply chain has ground to a stand still due to the lag in supply issues (computer chips, parts, etc )

You buy a car now … you pay top dollar … and then some

No negotiating going on. It’s a sellers market

Required by law now

The new law went into effect in 2020 after the 2018 Humboldt SK bus accident

https://globalnews.ca/news/4996368/humb ... -d-system/

Humboldt crash coroner’s report calls for mandatory bus seatbelts, improved victim ID system....

.... Transport Canada announced in June (2018?) that the department will require all newly built highway buses to have seatbelts by September 2020. Some charter bus companies say many new vehicles already have seatbelts, although there is no way to ensure passengers are wearing them......

Are you "triggered" by these future plans?

"Metrolinx has some *awesome* plans for GO buses serving the Toronto region, a 15 minute service standard and circumferential service to compliment frequent electric radial rail service!"

This new 15-minute standard is a big increase from the mostly-hourly service we have now.
