If the WB bonus and FYF offers continue that way they had been before, AND we can keep receiving the WB over and over, RFD churners can't complain really. But this ain't no keeper card.

If this translates to elevated hotel status, then its worth consideration IMHO. I need to keep an RBC CC in my corral in order to still qualify for their multiproduct rebate, and if this card mimics at least a few of the privileges of the Amex PP, I will probably bite.

Their non-private banking Infinite Privilege card isn't even metal, so wonder if they will be addressing that after making this 'in between' card metal?

I wonder if this card will allow business class flight purchases at 2cpp, just like the Avion VIP and Avion business.

I received an offer to upgrade my Visa to this card but I believe the AF is $399 plus $100 for supplementary card. Where are you seeing the AF of $199 ? The earn rate for the Avion Visa Infinite Privilege is 1.25 for every dollar. 25,000 welcome bonus.
Fees and Interest Rates:
Annual Fee: $399 | Additional Card: $99 | Purchase Rate: 19.99% | Cash advances: 22.99% (21.99% if you reside in Quebec, effective the first day of your next statement period after August 1, 2021)

This thread isn't about the Avion VIP card though...

When is RBC going to introduce at least a decent credit card? Probably never. 🥱

Meh indeed.

I wonder if this thread will get removed like BMO Eclipse did before it got announced lol.

But the card is metal.
That’s enough to see people fall over themselves to apply for it Face With Tears Of Joy

Underwhelming... for that AF and earn rate. And why is it UP to six visits to the lounge; it's either six or not?

$199 annual fee and still 1 pt per $1. C'mon RBC, get some point accelerators on groceries, recurring bills, gas, transit, etc. Otherwise no one will take this card.

Tbh from the looks of the info this looks like Avion is getting a revamp, and regular VIP will likely be revamped to metal too. There's no category in between infinite and infinite privilege. All the other major banks have increased the VIP to $499/599, so that's likely why RBC decided to hike the AF.

Also as a holder of the Avion PB card, RBC issues a plastic PB card for authorized users unlike TD / BMO / CIBC... So only the primary gets the metal.

Very underwhelming but not surprised… it’s RBC after-all. When I think of RBC I don’t think of innovation.

Tbh don’t really care, if I can still get 35k pts bonuses or better with no annual fee (or just product switch after 3 months of having the card and getting a pro rated refund); sign me up!
