New source for good value sporting goods
Doesn't appear to have been covered here yet but a French global sporting goods chain named Decathlon has opened in the Montréal area (across the Champlain bridge in Brossard). They sell a variety of sporting goods (name your sport - they claim 70- they likely have it under their own label) in a semi stack--em-high-and-sell-them-cheap fashion. They sell hockey items from Bauer in Europe but since coming to Canada, they've launched their own line.
Any visitors to France will notice that the outfit is also the supplier of (basse) couture to many French living outside Paris... I have to admit that I stock my wardrobe and locker from this outfit (shopped in France, Italy, China, Thailand and Malaysia).
Second store set to open next spring next to the IKEA in Québec. No mail order until then.
